Synopsis:

This episode tells the history of the town of Cicely through a series of flashbacks. After Joel bangs into 108 year old Ned Svenborg with his car, he brings him back to his cabin to recover. Ned tells Joel and his friends the story of how the town of Cicely got it's name. The flashbacks take place around the turn of the century and the cast of the regular show play different characters in the story. The town was once a lawless place, run by mean Mace Mowbry and his sidekick Kit, until two women, a couple named Cicely and Roslyn, came and transformed the town. Ned tells about how they transformed him into a literate, hardworking man. The two women worked to change the town into a freethinking, egalitarian society.
