Pat: "The guys knew you would never get into space because of your heart problem. But they wanted you to know that they considered you as much of an astronaut as any of them. They were gonna give that to you when they got back."
Reporter: "Mrs. White, you were the first wives to speak to your husband in space, does that give you a special thrill?"
Pat: "I was thrilled, yes I had a Special Thrill."
Reporter: "Will you be relieved when Ed gets home?"
Pat: "Gosh, yes. Umm... Oh Gosh, Yes."
Pat: "You know sometimes I just... I forget how to breathe. Its the craziest thing, I can't get any air. You know, I go running around the house, opening up windows, and trying to get air. And I keep telling myself, 'Now Patty, calm down. Just inhale, and exhale, inhale.' Its an easy thing to do, I mean, breathings easy, but I just... I just can't seem to get any Air."
